Team Rubicon UK

Why does the Veterans' Foundation support Team Rubicon UK?

Team Rubicon UK uses military experience and organisation to provide life-saving aid to communities around the world in the grips of disaster. Team Rubicon UK gives veterans the opportunity to use their unique training and skills to benefit people who are in desperate need.

Team Rubicon UK came into existence in 2015 when a huge earthquake hit Nepal. Team Rubicon USA was on its way and a UK operation made up of British Armed Forces veterans joined them in their disaster relief efforts. What would become Team Rubicon UK grew quickly from this and during the following year, General Sir Nick Parker who was previously Commander of British Land Forces and now on the board for Team Rubicon, called out to UK veterans to volunteer their skills in Nepal once again. Not long after, Team Rubicon UK was officially established.

Due to Team Rubicon UK being built using the skills and experiences of veterans as a base, it helps British veterans refocus after life in the armed forces. The transition between service life and civilian life can be very hard, Team Rubicon UK gives British Heroes the organisation, support and purpose that they may be missing since retiring from the armed forces. In the words of veteran Stefan Hoole: “Team Rubicon has helped me refocus my skills and improve on them further, making me feel challenged and a genuine sense of pride knowing that I am contributing to the awesomeness Team Rubicon’s output."
