Housing Options Scotland

Why does Veterans' Foundation support Housing Options Scotland?

Since 1997, Housing Options Scotland has helped disadvantaged people in Scotland to find appropriate housing. They work with all 32 Scottish local authorities and run a programme for veterans called Military Matters.

Military Matters began in 2012 and has helped over 1,000 veterans and their families find the right housing for their specific needs.

Their dedication and hard work has helped raise their profile and they have worked with the Scottish Government to highlight where the real problems lie with veterans' housing.

Military Matters ensures that ex-forces personnel have access to buying and renting option when these options would not normally be available. British Armed Forces veterans often face homelessness and unaffordable housing when they leave the services. Housing Options Scotland exists to provide veterans with a much-needed lifeline to secure housing solutions.
