The Warrior Programme

Why does the Veterans' Foundation support The Warrior Programme?

The Warrior Programme has developed over the last 10 years and is aimed at members of the Armed Forces and veterans, together with the families of both these groups.

It is designed to help individuals develop resilience and manage emotions, which helps prepare them for life outside the forces and future success.

Four courses are available for the following groups:

  1. Serving personnel
  2. Families of serving personnel
  3. Veterans
  4. Veterans’ families

Each programme consists of a three-day intensive training course followed by 12 months of ongoing help, which includes regular refresher session and online support facilities.

The ultimate aim is to help attendees fulfil their potential, deal with everyday life as well as help with focus and achievement – whether remaining in service or going back in to civilian life.

All food and accommodation is funded, making it accessible to as many people as possible.

Dave, a Lance Corporal, has been part of the programme and enjoyed huge benefits. He said: “The Warrior Programme has allowed me to really understand myself as a human being. It’s cleared the fog. The experience on the course was completely unexpected. It’s reset my mind back to 20 plus years ago when I was happier.

“Me and my wife were never happier than when I was a Lance Corporal and life seemed simpler. Now we’re back there. The course has taken out almost all of the stress. I used to go to a very dark place. Now it’s filled with chinks of light. It’s life-changing.”

How you can support the Veterans' Foundation

The Veterans’ Foundation has provided grants to hundreds of UK-based military charities and organisations since its inception in 2016. It is dedicated to distributing funding to where it is most effective and millions of pounds have been given to projects that have a positive impact on British veterans, and their dependents, in need.

If you’d like to become of a supporter of the Veterans’ Foundation you can do so by making a donation, by fundraising, by leaving something to Veterans' Foundation in your will or by joining the Veterans’ Lottery. Thank you.
