Army Widows Association

May 13 2020

The Veterans’ Foundation is proud to support the Army Widows’ Association as a recipient of one of our most recent grants.

What is the Army Widow's Association?

The Army Widows’ Association was founded in 2004 by a group of Army widows who felt that there was a need for an organisation that represented and understood the needs of today’s Army widows.

With an unfortunately evergrowing membership, the charity helps widows find their feet again after the death of a partner. From helping widows sort through mounting paperwork to having a support network in place that can fully empathise with the pain of losing a loved one, the Association provides vital care.

“Being a widow can be the loneliest place in the world, but it doesn't have to be.” One widow explains the benefit of having the solid community around that the Army Widows’ Association provides.

The Association prides itself on being on hand to help with any issue that an army widow may face. Each point of contact can be connected with through the website.

To support the work of the Army Widows’ Association and other charities who support veterans and families, sign up for the Veterans’ Lottery. It only costs £10 a month and gives you a chance to win £25,000 every month along with helping to support a wide range of forces charities.
