A Huge Milestone - Thank You From Our CEO

March 30 2022

I have some remarkable news!

Two days ago the trustees of the Veterans’ Foundation awarded grants amounting to £1.23 million and this takes the total money awarded in grants to over £10 million since inception in July 2016.

We expect to provide £4.4 million to good causes in the year from July 2021 to June 2022.

Even in the current difficult financial environment, the need of our beneficiaries remains and your support continues, so thank you.

Once again, the range of charity and charitable work that the Veterans’ Foundation has been able to support this quarter is wide-ranging; the grants will help veterans with mental health issues by enabling them to access the psychotherapy work they need quicker than through any other route; we are again providing support to organisations that help children and families of servicemen and servicewomen; some of the grants will support older veterans through drop-in centres that support fitness and wellbeing programmes, and so on.

We praise the organisations that bid for funds from the Veterans’ Foundation becuase their work is making a huge difference to people in need.

Recently we advertised the will-making service that we provide through Farewill. I am delighted to say that many of our supporters made wills through Farewill and very kindly left something to the Veterans’ Foundation in those wills.

We really appreciate this as that money will be put to good use - thank you!

Finally, I would like to mention that we have just recruited two more members of staff in the Veterans’ Foundation, another grants manager and a fundraising manager.

They will both bring some wonderful experience and are very motivated to help Service people who are in need.

Their employment is an indication of the growth of the Veterans’ Foundation; so thank you for continuing to support the work we do.

YOU make it all possible.
