Huge congratulations to the winners of the latest Veterans’ Lottery draw, who have now shared in more than £3 million in prize money awarded since launch.
We are delighted to announce that James from Carlisle has won the £7,000 first prize in the January draw, while Roger from Eastbourne scooped second place worth £3,500.
Thanks to our loyal Veterans’ Lottery players and supporters, we have now given grants worth over £31 million to more than 500 organisations across the UK since launch in the summer of 2016.
Our figures show that 14,952 Veterans’ Lottery prize winners have shared well over £3.1 million up until January 31, 2026 and it’s great to see so many of our supporters celebrating wins for doing their bit to help veterans and their families in need.
We increased the top prize to £75,000 from £50,000 in June 2024, and since then there have been eight winners of the rollover jackpot.
The most recent £75,000 winner was Sally Huggins, who’s hugely passionate about our armed forces. Her inspiration for playing the lottery was her friend's son who was killed during service in an IED blast in Afghanistan.
“If he had survived I know that he and his family would have needed so much help and support when he came home, so that’s why I play, because I know how much of a huge part the Veterans’ Foundation plays in providing financial assistance to amazing military charities that help so many.
“The military and supporting charity are two things that are strong passions in our family and we all feel it’s our duty to do our bit.”
Thanks to our loyal Veterans’ Lottery players as the funds raised have transformed lives and ensured that those who have served our country receive the help and support they deserve.
The Veterans’ Lottery is now the UK’s largest single-cause lottery and is a key funding stream for the Foundation’s grant programme.
