This ongoing commitment from the Veterans’ Foundation provides Give Us Time with the stability needed to continue offering respite opportunities for families facing challenging circumstances. Families like the former Army household who recently benefited from a week’s stay in Polperro, Cornwall.
They shared with us the impact the break had on their lives:
“My family and I would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Give Us Time and Polperro Holiday Park for the incredible gift of a week’s accommodation in Polperro, Cornwall.
As a veteran medically discharged in the last 18 months, the past few years have been profoundly challenging—financially, physically, and emotionally. Following major surgery earlier this year, I am now registered disabled, and opportunities for rest and reconnection have been few and far between.
This holiday meant the world to us. It allowed us to recharge, reconnect, and create memories that we’ll treasure for a lifetime. We explored the beautiful Cornish coast, spent laughter-filled evenings together, and enjoyed simple pleasures that have been rare in recent years. A magical highlight was a sea safari where we saw dolphins—an unforgettable experience we could only afford thanks to your generous support.
Thank you, sincerely, for this gift. You gave us more than a holiday—you gave us moments of joy, connection, and peace that we will carry forward with us.”

Over £32 million in Veterans' Foundation grants has now been awarded to organisations supporting veterans, serving personnel, and their families nationwide.
Grants have ranged from just a few hundred pounds to an impressive £200,000, enabling more than 500 charities to deliver essential services tackling key challenges faced by the veteran community – including mental health support, homelessness prevention, employment opportunities, and reducing social isolation.
