2023 began with a bang for one lucky player of the Veterans' Lottery as they walked away with a tasty £5,000 in January's draw.
Suzanne from Corsham took home the first prize last month and the 54-year-old certainly has good reason for playing.
As the daughter of a member of the Royal Artillery, a former reservist herself and the wife of a soldier, Suzanne knows all about the life of a veteran and so signed up to play the Veterans' Lottery.
The win came at a good time too, with her daughter moving house soon, so her winnings will be going towards helping out with that.
The £2,000 second prize went the way of Margaret from Preston, while 40 other players received a £120 boost to their coffers after January's draw.
February's draw will be the final draw with this prize money structure as, from March's Veterans' Lottery draw, the brand new prizes will come into effect.
First prize will now be a brilliant £7,000, while the second prize has also been boosted to £3,500. The number of players receiving the £120 third prize will also double to 80 from March, while the rollover jackpot will remain at a huge £50,000.
That means there will be 82 guaranteed prizes in every single monthly draw, with players in with the chance to win a combined total of up to £63,100.
